Pietra Ligure, Italian Riviera, Italy

Residence Orchidea is in Pietra Ligure, a typical town for vacationing on the Italian Riviera, in the western part of Liguria.

Orchidea residence holiday apartment is easily reached by car (3 kilometers from the motorway exit) and it is just 800 metres from the railway station. Residence Orchidea is 700 metres  (10 minutes walking) far from the sandy beach: in our area you can find different free beaches, daily and private beach.

Liguria is a tiny region of Italy between sea and mountains and this beautiful western part of land is famous for Palm trees (Palm Riviera) and flowers (Blumen Riviera or Flowers Riviera).

Pietra Ligure is on the Palm Riviera and has numerous equipped private and free sandy beaches, an attractive promenade with colorful gardens, palm trees and different children’s playgrounds.

There is a charming historical center around the castle erected on a rock between the VII and VIII century a.d. by the Byzantines as a defense against Lombards; Saint Nicolò square and the beautiful church, typical houses, arches, narrow streets (caruggi), which makes shopping a pleasure.

Restaurants, wine and piano bars, pubs, pizzerie, discotheques, a theater and a cinema to add to your enjoyment during your holiday in Liguria!

Pietra Ligure has very interesting events, cultural and local folklore. The market is on Saturday with fresh fruits, local vegetable and typical cuisine; “Pietra Antico”, a market for old and second hand objects and furniture, on the last Sunday of every month.

“Confuoco” the traditional bonfire of laurel is on Sunday before Christmas; “Thriathlon Olimpico” is a very popular sporting event in May.

Pietra Ligure classical summer events are “Festa del miracolo di San Nicolò” in July and “Festa dell’Assunta” in August with a big fair, religious procession, lighting of the sea with thousands of candles and fireworks.

“Dolcissima Pietra”is a very popular exhibition in September of sweets from all over Italy.
